The closest airport to Tulum is Cancún International (CUN), which is about 75 miles north of Tulum and is serviced by most major airlines. There are daily direct flights to Cancún from most major U.S. cities.

We recommend finding a flight into Cancún that arrives in the morning or early afternoon. It's about 90 minutes from the Cancún airport to Tulum and many hotels don't staff their front desks late in the evening.

Tulum is about 90 minutes to 2 hours south of the Cancún airport. There are a number of car rental agencies and you can book ahead. If you're sticking around Tulum you won't need a car but if you're planning to explore the area renting a car is a great option.
